Waiting, more research.
The weather still is way too unreliable to go out and shoot (I need about 3-4 days with stable weather to get the film done, plus I still need to tinker with the storyboard a little), so I'm waiting, planning and watch more stuff I never saw. Right now: all 10 seasons of "Friends".

It's not quarters, it's thirds.
After reading this article which states that smokers a.) cost the healthcare system about 60.000 € less than "healthy-living people" and b.) smokers have an average live expectancy of 77 years, I realized something. My life is split into three distinct chapters.
The first 25 years were a warm-up. I learned to live, to survive, and repaired all the damage that an almost completely disfunctional family and a fucked-up adolescency induce.
The current 25 years are my prime. If you thought I did some crazy stuff before, just wait and see. I haven't even started yet.
The last 25 years I'll probably use for retrospection. Or more madness. And I'll probably use up all the saved credit with my liver.
(The final 2 years are a bonus.)

Movie list from outer space.

Besides storyboarding, planning FX, scrounging equipment for the movie and trying to get more than 4 hours of sleep a day in the process, I try to find some time to watch influential or important movies that I haven't seen yet, or haven't seen in quite a while, especially those that contain scenes or address topics relevant to my work, to get a feeling how other directors (did I just write "other directors" ? Oh boy.) handle this.
I'm watching them in a "first acquired, first served" basis, so after two hours of claw hammer fun with "Old Boy", I'm now delving into the brat pack classic "Sixteen Candles". Quite the combination, eh? And now imagine that those two together - and you have an idea of what my debut will be like. Muhaha!
P.S.: Why do I have a craving for Dim Sum all of a sudden?

Best. concert. ever.

The atmostphere was amazing - random people hugging each other, high fives flying around, it was simply epic, and the setlist was perfect.

Storyboarding.

I'm finally making some progress - the first rough draft of the screenplay is done, although it's full of correction notes, and I got the first dozen scenes storyboarded. Still haven't decided on the actors, music and exact settings. Also, I still have to try and error a lot before I have any idea how to get the VFX right. But at last something's happening.

Yet Another Blog.
Hello world. I've been blogging since 1999, and this is yet another instance of my addiction to fame and publication. Right now, I don't have much to show here, but in the near future, this will be the place to read about my moviemaking exploits.
You see, after a career as a professional nerd, I now turned my focus towards moving pictures. Right now I'm working on the storyboard for my first short, "Er" ("He"). More info on that soon.
